Airtable AI Auto-Fill: Dynamic Prompts + PDF Extraction (GPT-Powered)

Stop manually typing data into Airtable. This n8n template turns any Airtable table into a self-service AI data-extraction tool — your team defines what the AI should extract just by editing the column "Description" field, no n8n or coding knowledge required after setup. How it works: 1. Add an "input" column to your Airtable table (e.g. a "File" attachment field for PDFs). 2. For every other column, write your extraction instruction inside the column's Description — that's your dynamic prompt (e.g. "Extract the invoice total as a number"). 3. Airtable sends a webhook event to this workflow whenever a row's file is added/updated, or whenever a field/column is created or changed. 4. The workflow fetches the table schema (to read the prompts), downloads the PDF, and feeds it to an OpenAI-powered LLM chain along with each column's prompt. 5. The generated values are written straight back into the matching Airtable row(s) — automatically, in seconds. Two smart update paths are included: - Row updated → only the affected row's empty fields are generated (fast, efficient). - Field created/changed → every existing row under that column is re-generated (useful when you add a new prompt column retroactively).
